Introduction

The European Law Moot Court Society ("ELMCS"), established at Lisbon, Portugal, is the administrator of the web site http://www.ELMC.org (the "Web Site").

The purpose of this policy is to explain how ELMCS collects and processes personal data. ELMCS is committed to ensuring that any personal data supplied by persons who subscribe to enter the European Law Moot Competition (the "Team Members") or otherwise collected through the Web Site are collected and processed in a fair and lawful manner.

What types of personal data does ELMCS collect?

ELMCS collects and processes personal data of Team Members and of subscribers to the ELMC address book.

The data collected may include name and individual contact data. Team Members may choose to include their personal data in the ELMCS address book, but can also register without allowing their data to be included in this address book.

For what purposes does ELMCS collect personal data?

ELMCS uses the personal data for administrative purposes, to facilitate communication with Team Members and to provide other services. These services may include sending updated information to Team Members regarding the Society's activities.

By including your data in the ELMCS address book you will constantly receive updated information regarding the Society's activities. By allowing registration of your data in the ELMCS address book, you understand and authorise that the data can be shared with the Society Sponsors for limited purposes.

To whom does ELMCS disclose personal data?

ELMCS does not disclose personal data to third parties except where consent thereto has been obtained, where ELMCS is obliged by law to disclose personal data or where ELMCS has contracted with third parties to assist in providing services to ELMCS's Team Members.

Via hyperlinks, visitors of the Web Site can visit web sites of other organisations that have their own privacy policies. We recommend our visitors to read the privacy policies of these organisations before disclosing their personal data.

How does ELMCS protect the personal data it holds?

ELMCS has implemented appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unlawful processing.

Rights of Team Members

Team Members have the right to request ELMCS to inform them as to whether ELMCS processes personal data relating to them. ELMCS will provide the Team Members with the requested information within 4 weeks after such request.

Furthermore, Team Members can request ELMCS to delete, rectify and block personal data that ELMCS holds on them. Team Members that have chosen to include their data in the ELMCS address book can access their data in the address book at any time and rectify them, or request for their removal.

Team Members can at any time request ELMCS to stop sending them information regarding ELMCS's activities.

Each Team Members also will have the option of joining the ELMCS address book. The registration procedure is only completed however when You send the written return sheet and the participation fee by regular post for backup purposes.
